Don't know whether its a good thing though. ..

Trying to trust God in this season too...it may sound cliche but to trust in every single aspect isn't as easy as you think! Alright thats all...friends out there please keep me in your prayers...

Hey guys! Have been quite lazy to blog as usual since i started tumblring!xP Anyway had this Zone 1 outing like ages ago but shall blog about it now. We kinda had a simple celebration for Nings our new AZS's birthday at swensen's and we kinda camwhored a little! Sorry for the late post again...got addicted to tumblr instead hahas! Anyway this will just be a recollection of my NDP journey!(: These months leading to NDP 2010 have been the toughest yet most enjoyable period of my Army life.

Communications and Multimedia Committee

My NDP journey began with attending tonnes and tonnes of meetings, which is unavoidable me being in the secretariat team. This later transformed to writing reports, tracking outstanding issues and budgeting as well as helping out wherever necessary. When combined rehearsals started we had to sacrifice our Saturdays and get Mondays off instead. I don't think I'll exactly call it a sacrifice as I really enjoyed the atmosphere and the privilege of being there to watch the rehearsals every Saturday. And surprisingly, I thank God for the friends and family who happened to be free on Monday to go out with me!

The journey was very stressful and demanding at times but it's those moments that made being part of NDP rewarding. 9th August 2010 was the proud day for everyone of us in the committee as we present the National Day Parade to Singapore itself. Watching the show live invoked in me a sense of nostalgia and pride to be part of this country. This is really the only place deep down in everyone of our hearts that we can call 'home'.

Now that the jourey has ended, I will never forget the times we struggled, the times we rejoiced and the times we stood in awe of the results of the combined effort of every performer, soldier and every member of the organising committee. The thing that will linger most in my memory would be the comaraderie forged with fellow soldiers as well as soldiers from other units and the helpful contractors through the course of NDP preparation. It is certainly a once in a lifetime experience that one can only be lucky enough to have.

Nelson's Birthday Treat!

As a continuation from my last post due to my lack of blogging lately...met Nelson Chua (my best JC friend) on the next day (20th July) for his belated birthday treat...good to catch up after so long!(:

So apparently we went shopping for Nelson's new shoes which he bought from Pedro and ate dinner at Brozeit! Of all the things to order he so have to order the sausage platter for TWO which seems hardly enough for myself!xP It was nice though but I was still super hungry after that!D: Went for ice-cream Belgian waffle at Ben & Jerry's after!

Going Community/Youth Anni

Then after that came Go Community on last last Sat (24th July) where we went to some estate at Sin Ming Ave to clean one room flats! It was quite fun but I sacrificed one day off for it!D:

Went to Padang for NDP Photoshoot before this and after the cleaning I actually went back to watch the Combined Rehearsal hahas...cleaning was ok I guess...nothing exactly very memorable as the houses are considerably clean...only thing was the scrubbing of the floor till my nails changed shape! Went with zone4 peeps to J8 for awhile before heading back to Padang...

Anyway had a good talk after CR6 with Daryl and Hannah at HK Cafe as things weren't going so well then:(( Hope things will only get better!(:

Sunday!

So came Sunday (1st August)...went for FOP for the 2 previous nights but will blog about it later as I do not have the pictures...and yep went for CET of which there were no Zone1 people at all except me and Jerry hahahs...sat with Zone4 people anyway and it was actually quite interesting compared to the adults ones!

Went for service after which was quite ok and then MENTORING...sat with J and S for mentoring and we were chit-chatting through out hahas!xP The lady in front had to ask us to keep quiet:P But they left me halfway and I almost fell asleep after!D:

After mentoring went for dinner with Raymond, Audrey, Cherilynn and Serene at this restaurant called 18 Chefs which is quite good and affordable! The only thing was that we had to go to YISHUN-.- Had a real good talk over dinner...wad a great time!:)

Went to Meet-the-People Session (MPS) yesterday to visit the guys! Some new faces but not much has changed(: Will go back more soon and everyone's still as nice but not the newbies though=X And NDP's gonna end so soon:( Gonna miss the stay-outs hahahs

Anyway I'm kinda saddened by the people leaving Bethel...I mean it may not be at its best condition now and they may be greener pastures but Bethel made many of who we are today (including the deserters)...we shouldn't be so ungrateful to just leave when Bethel needs us most:'( I for certain won't be welcoming these ungrateful, self-seeking deserters back when everything is over!

This is a very delayed post...Anyway Germaine brought me round Resorts World (where she works) on 19 July!:D It was quite fun we walked round Resorts World then Sentosa and then Vivo hahas...Quite a tiring dayy but it was well spent(: Had a good talk with her too but sadly we didn't go to Universal Studios which we should totally have!

Went back to RJC (I refuse to call it RI!) for ODACIA on Saturday afternoon! It was supposed to start at 2 but when I went at 3 plus no one from batch 23 except Mel Ng was there...waited for ages for the rest to arrive hahas! Anyway it was kinda awkward in the beginning as everyone has not been touch for quite some time but soon we managed to catch up alot!:) Went around school to take photos with Amanda, Seth and Jia En after the gathering too and we're going rockclimbing on Tuesday night together!:D

Spent my Monday Off (as Saturdays are NDP rehearsal days) with my dearest Mummy! Started off with lunch with Dad at this Jap restaurant called OOTOYA! Although my favourite ramen wasn't exactly on the menu but food's great! And there's free refill of rice!:D Ate 3 bowls of rice as the portion of my dish was kinda huge! Service was excellent too! Great food, great ambience and great value! (wasn't very ex)

Watched "Ip Man the Legend is Born" with Mom, it wasn't as nice as the orignal Ip Man 1 & 2 though and storyline development was kinda lacking...not a bad movie still!(: Had dinner at some Canton-i restaurant at ION...Its like uber expensive but service was bad (waitress was not very polite) and food was only ok! OOTOYA was so much better! Please don't go there folks! Had some pictures of the place and food anyway!

Had quite a nice and fruitful day today! It was kinda a day well spent and a good break from all that NDP work too!(: Anyway! Met Dayna in the morning for breakfast at the Borders Bistro where Ps Daniel once brought me! The salmon scrambled eggs were awesome I tell you but it still can't be compared to the eggs BFF and I ate at Wildhoney for her birthday treat! Its a nice place for breakfast anyway! Gone shopping after that!

Anyway Reverend Naomi Dowdy preached a real great sermon today which really touched my heart and inspired me onwards to lead myself and the cell to greater heights in our relationship with God into an era of great anointing, blessings and the greater move of the Holy Spirit! Felt God's anointing pour down on me during the altar call and the vastness of God's works and blessings is indeed incomprehensible. It was a great sight to see hearts healed and united once again in the Body of Christ!

A Scripture mentioned in the Sermon and also one Mavis gave to me when she prayed was...

"Neither do men pour new wine into old wineskins. If they do, the skins will burst, the wine will run out and the wineskins will be ruined. No, they pour new wine into new wineskins, and both are preserved."
Matthew 9: 17

In order for God to pour new blessings and new anointing not just the wine but the wineskins (us as the bearer of the anointing) have to be changed and renewed in Christ Jesus.

My prayer today Lord is for You to continue to renew me and teach me humility like that of Yours. May I always recognise the works of my hands are only possible through Your empowerment. My everything and my all comes from You O God. Thank You Lord and continue to make me a good steward. All Glory to God! The Author and Perfector of our faith, the Creator of the heavens and the earth, the Beginning and the End. May Your will be done in my life. Amen.

A Walk To Remember...

Hey people!(: Anyway I kinda read (and finished) "A walk to remember" by Nicholas Sparks on the bus ride to church camp while the other peeps play monopoly deal! hahas...The book's bout how Landon met Jamie through asking her to the homecoming ball and how their love for each other begin to unfold through performing together in a play and stuff. Their love was almost magical that two completely different came together forging an eternal bond transforming each other in the process! The book however breaks your heart when the truth that Jamie has leukemia was out and it made me cry so many times!:'( The sweetest part was when Landon proposed to Jamie and they eventually walked down the ailse together! :) Its one book that really touched my heart and I think its my favourite one thus far! Jamie was soo sweet that I almost fell in love with her hahas!

Anyway watched the movie too but the book was sweeter to me I think! Cried too D: hahahs and its a lil different from the book storyline wise!

Church Camp!

Spent a real awesome 4 days at Church Camp! God's presence was really there and most of the youths caught the fire of God!:D At first I was complaining that I didn't have a clique to hang out with but in the end I managed to join different groups of friends hahas which wasn't that bad after all! But lost my cam there too!D: The most rewarding part of my fellowship there was that I got to spend alot of time talking to Phoe (love her ttm!) and Chris too! Got to catch up with them alot and I am glad that God also once again showed me the depths of His love for me and restored me through the camp!:) From now on lets all live for Him!:D

This is kinda a delayed post as JOYLYNN was too lazy to send me the pictures! HAHAs anyway was real glad that I am able to catch up with so many (long lost...not really) peeps recently!:D Alright! Anyway managed to meet Joylynn and Lydia last Wednesday for dinner and stuff! We just ate at RamenPlay, talked, took photos and went Macs to eat icecream:D Was kinda simple but we had a great time and I am really happy that I get to spend time with the both of them! Germaine's 18th Birthday Party

Had a really great time at Germaine's Birthday Party yesterday!:D At first it was kinda weird cos she put me in the same table with Donovan, Keith and the other PRPS peeps whom I didn't know except Jon Ng whom I remembered vaguely...Was quite bored in the beginning but started to talk and do nonsense with Ben later on and managed to talk to the rest too! They're cool peeps! hahas and Yan Rong thought I was 18, Ben 17 and Elissa is the BEST I tell you...she thought I was 15!!! See I am not too old for HER after all^^ Germs looked really pretty but due to her MULTITUDE of guests, we didn't really get to talk to her much! It was fun anyway and I really hope I can get to hang out with them again soon!:D btw the above pictureis the only one I've got...the rest are still in JON NG'S CAMERA of which he haven't uploaded!

As for you Germs if you ever read this...Just wanna wish you a Happy 18th Birthday and thanks for being such a great friend all these years! It was really nice to have you to talk to and meet once a year during ORAs! Hahahas Knew you for like ages and we're all old people now! Catch up with u again soon k you busy girl! All the best for As this year too!:D

Alright people this is the FIRST cell outing that CLARA actually came for hahahas...decided not to cancel it even though attendance was kinda pathetic! But who cares...we had loads of fun anw!:D hahahas...and lauren's DSLR rocks!

So we started off eating at White Dog's Cafe at Vivocity and we went to the basement to buy loads of other junk like Beard Papa, Dong De Mun and BreadTalk too!

Happy 19th Birthday Hannah!!!:D Anyway on the eve of Hannah's Birthday, Yingqi gathered Dora, Chew Min, Vanessa, ME, Percy and khor to give her a surprise at 12am that night! We went there and the security guard actually didn't wanna let us in!!! Managed to get in anyway but the lift had problems which didn't allow us to get to her house but we still managed to surprise her at the first level of her house! YAY!:D

She was so touched when she saw us that she actually CRIED! xP Will remember it forever pal! Sang her a birthday song, talked, played with sparkles and party poppers and camwhored! We pushed her into the pool as a finale too!:D

Anyway pal if you're reading this, the next part is for you(:

Pal!:D So much have changed the same time last year! Still remember that I couldn't even remember that it was your birthday till I called you and you told me you just came back from your birthday celebration!:( No words can express my gratitude for you and what you've done for me:) But still I just wanna say thanks for always being there for me in my darkest moments...thanks for all the encouragement and support you've given me and also thanks for forgiving me for the all mistakes I've done and also thanks for tolerating all my nonsense and especially my EGO!xP...but above all Thank You for being such a huge part of my life! My life would certainly not be the same without you and you're someone I really cherish and thank God for(:

Hey people! My dear Clara has returned to church at last like the prodigal son HAHAs...anw was real glad to see her again after so long!:D Sat with her during service and was so happy till I had difficulty "disciplining" Jas after! Please come everyweek from now k RAA!

Anw had quite a boring weekend but I bought 4 books and made contact lenses! Wonder how I would look in them^^

Starting to shift to Padang for NDP work and for once I am actually proud of NDP hahas...anw out of army times are getting kinda boring with everyone busy and stuff:( hope I will be free enough during June to go out with peeps! Thats all!

Alright people! Can't believe my block Off's finally over D: Sigh...thought it would've lasted forever!

As a continuation of the previous post I finally met BFF for breakfast of which we had quite a great talk and she is buying me Gossip Girl Season 2 for my belated birthday present! YAY:D And I also made a deal that I'll treat her to WildHoney for her birthday this year! Things that happened later in the week kind of humbled me and helped me understand my BFF so much more now...apologised and think our friendship will go back to old times soon...Thanks pal for everything and putting up with my nonsense! (:

After the breakfast with her I went off to Liang Court to meet Army friends for KTV which was kinda fun! And I thought I was late but when I went there they were still having lunch at Narutama Ramen or something like that hahahs...

Kinda went out with Mr Keith on Friday for awhile before having cell gathering at my house which was rather relaxing as all we did was eat, fellowship and watch Transformers 2!

Pissed my dad off when I said I didn't wanna continue with golf...oh wells my shoulders were genuinely hurting so wadeva...ANYWAY! Bumped into Nat @Borders before meeting Sharm on Sat morning! She seemed shy but soo did I laa hahas xP Met Sharm later for IP MAN 2 which was kinda awesome seeing the angmohs beaten up hahas...brought Sharm to my fav ramen place and she DIDNT LIKE IT!!! Anw went to Starbucks to chill and talk after before heading home...

As for Sun, sent my sis off to USA for her work and travel for 3 months...guess wad she'll be back in time for NDP to see the efforts of her brother's labour! Had dinner with Nelson after church and thats where the mudpie (above) came from...

That's all I guess...can't wait to finish Season 1 and start on the second season...XOXO

Alright guys I know this is totally my OFF week and I should be making full use of it and stuff...but the timing is so bad that practically almost everyone I know/hang out with is BUSY with exams/NS/school stuff...sigh...real uneventful week...

Alright for Mon I went facial, golf then swim with liangsheng...I so totally regret agreeing to swimming with him cos hes like bugging me to go with him again...not cool man not cool...I have tried to show "subtle" disinterest but I hope he gets it that I dont exactly love hanging out with him nor do I want to go to his adult cell group...ugh...

Watched KICKASS yesterday and I can't believe I actually cried hahas...and I started watching Gossip Girl! It so totally rocks and CHUCK BASS is my new idol!

Met Germs for a real short while this morning but it was great! Love her company ahahs...went to look for Mrs Toh too and she's PREGNANT! :D soo happy for her hahas and Mdm Lee is married now!

Anyway hope the next few days will be better...meeting BFF for breakfast followed by KTV with CCIS platoon mates YAY! Cell's coming to my house on Fri and gonna hang out with SHARM on Sat!:D Can't wait hahahs:D

Had IPPT today...Initially I only intended to get a silver but I got my hopes up halfway when I was able to achieve the gold standard for the 4 static stations! But I missed the gold timing for 2.4km run by a stinking 8 seconds!!! (Gold timing's 9.45 min but I ran 9.52min!!) D: Ughh...should have totally ran faster:(

I got a total of like 23/25 points but theres noo use since I got no GOLD:( And for all you good and free people out there...IPPT Gold = $200 + 2 days OFF! Nvm will goo retake till i get my GOLD! Jiayous:D

Hey peeps:) Took off on Thurs to go out with my BFF:D hahahas...at last a decent outing after such a long time! :D Sorry for making you mad pal:( Shall try uber hard not to again! Anyway on Thurs I woke up real early to watch MTV, go to Heartland Mall to try KFC breakfast for the first time of my life (cos I couldn't find the Macs) and to plan my sharing too! Shiok ttm:D

Ok met my pal at KFC where we rotted quite long due to our apparent laziness and then headed down to Orchard ION! Shopped real long for my loafers but to couldn't find anything nice till we reached Pedro which only had the display piece...we reserved it at 313 (my fav mall!) and went for lunch...

Wanted to blog about my off day but the news of Uncle Sebastian's passing was so inherently shocking and overwhelming that made me rethink of the many things I have in life. As for now I really pray that my dear John, Matthew and Aunty Agnes will be strong to withstand this trying time:( His departure was most unexpected as I always thought that he was not only a healthy but a strong man...a man tough for his age and a man who have faced the flurry of life's storms...Now all that we can take comfort in is that he is now in a better place, once again reunited with the Father and entering into Eternity with Him...

It also led me to contemplate about my own life on a much greater scale than before...things that I hold dear and things that I've neglected in the recent years...It has made me cherish my loved ones more and changed many of my priorities...and now I truly realised that every moment in life should be lived to its fullest so if time were to take you away, you would not look back and regret on what you've not done...

Great Move!

Hahas I know that I am really lagging but anyways...Sunday was Great Move day and it was kinda like the last day we'll get to use the old building before its torn into bits and pieces...I haven't really felt the loss yet but I think I would, once I see the building in ruins:(...but oh wells at least its going down for a greater cause for our church:D Really can't wait for the new building to be completed and for Youth Service to come back hahas (I know we haven't moved yet!). Maybe I'll have my wedding at the new building next time! :D

Ok as for Sunday I kinda spent the morning ATTEMPTING to help Shar with her work at the library (of which she seems to have less interest in than me). Met Roy who was reading there too and so we linda snugged up to a corner to do our stuff!

Just finished reading Bringsr today and its a totally AWESOME book:D The Inheritance Cycle (the name of the series) is a series of books that really captured my imagination and allowed my mind to venture into another world which beheld many wonders absent in our boring and mundane (military) lives...I really can't wait for the fourth book in the Inheritance Cycle to be published!

And I really hope that they make Eldest into a movie too! As Brisingr would make an even awesomer movie comparable or better than the Lord of the Rings! I think...

Good Friday/Ly's Farewell

As for Good Friday I didn't attend the service as I was a game master for the children's service...something that has always puzzled me is that WHY DO WE HAVE TO PLAY TIC-TAC-TOE OUTDOORS!?!? Ok played tic-tac-toe with the kids at the fitness coner which was really hot! but took some pics with kids and fellow teachers too! :)

Playing Frisbeeee!

Booked in for Friday night as we had Armour Route Relay Competition early the next day...didn't go in with high hopes but the WOSPEC team of HQ Armour won 3rd! :D I am really proud of the team and all our efforts training and stuff did not go to waste...will really miss the time we trained together especially Jerome, Tze Wei, Warrant Wong (now some new rank), Staff Choo and Kenny...will hope to train/hang out with you guys again!

YAY:D

Aside from our bronze medal the combined Armour HQ team came in 1st overall:D We were all overjoyed as we touched the trophy as this is the 1st year ever that we actually won the other combat units! The day was especially memorable and everyone were ecstatic!

Sadly I had to book in for AOS duty on Easter and missed the service altogether:( Sigh some other stuff happened too and all I can say is that I was and still am very disappointed in you...nvm...anyway I was so tired the next day I accidentally locked my wallet with key in the cupboard and SGT Jon had to pry the lock open for me XD thanks SGT Jon! You're the best:D hahas...bought a new lock and there came along a hectic week of meetings and range:( Thank God for the weekends! :) kk thats all people! Bye!

Hahas I am really grateful that I wasn't activated this weekend! Had a super stressful week in Army and the last thing I need was to be called back on the weekends...Thank God for such a wonderful weekend...Anyway! Had cell outing on Friday and we went to have dinner at Just Acia and Mudpies+Buffalo Wings/Nachos and stuff at Changing Appetite....no pictures yet cos DYLAN *hint* haven't uploaded them! hahas :)

Saturday was kinda uneventful going for golf and that uber boring addiction talkk(I really didn't learn anything and I am glad I did not force my cell to go)....

Had a great Sunday anyway going for BCM and also youth service of which for once in a long time I WASN'T PLAYING:D...enjoyed myself fellowshipping a.k.a. annoying my zone people and I got to sit with my fav servicemates(Elliot and Shar) for the service!

Hey people have been quite lazy to blog lately soo gonna cover quite alot in today's blog (I think)...alright anw just finished my ATP shoot on friday and came home at like 12plus!!! Sigh but at least I got marksmanship which means 200BUCKS!!! Hahas :D

Ok anw went shopping with SHAR yesterday after golf lessons (which is quite boring) and stuff...we kinda shopped back and forth from Somerset and Orchard till Shar finally found her pair of shoes! And you know what! SHAR kept saying that she wants to deposit money...I thought that she was running an errand for her mom or something but when I asked she said its cos her bank has insufficient funds to pay for her shoes and I was like YOU CAN PAY IN CASH MY DEAR! hahhas...Anyway we ate this hot sauce chicken wings at 4 fingers @ ION too and we almost died...had a real great afternoon:D

Alright after that I apparently rushed home from Somerset just to end up there again for my mum's company Dinner & Dance at Madarin Hotel...it was ok I guess except for the fact that I was quite full and that the spicy wings gave me tummyache:( took lots of photos anyway!

Day 1
Alrighty for day 1 we had service in the morning which ended at like 10am...I thought it was still early so I apparently wanted to eat Macs for breakfast but my mom was soo anxious for who knows what reason that she wanted us to go to my grandma's place immediately...I of course as always got what I wanted but while eating breakfast with my beloved sista she was ranting away bout how mom didn't let her say bye to churchies before leaving...

New Beginnings

Today's the beginning of a new chapter in my church life and I am feeling both elated and sad at the same time. Elated as a new chapter brings along much excitment and great things to be experienced in this new year of change and crossing over. But it is also sad as in order for a new chapter to be opened the old one would inevitably have to come to a close. Today I shall dedicate this post to a bunch of lovely people who have made the previous chapter one that's filled and overflowing with love, joy and fun. Thank you PL1 for being such an important part of my life.

As I look back and ponder about the times I've spent with my beloved cell group I can't help but remember the moments of laughter and crankiness (mainly me) that we've shared. They will always be etched in my memory and engraved upon my heart. I really treasure every second being with them and I wish I could relieve every single one of them just once more...

We started off as strangers, unfamiliar with our peers which we were obliged to meet each week. The initial sessions were awkward and quiet, with just me and nings trying our very best to make whatever conversation we could, and the girls and boys seemed like two separate entities in the cell. But as the times passed through our multiple cell groups and outings this bond of friendship and love began to form. I still remember vividly the times we spent having steam boat at my house or even hanging out at the Zoo, how happy and contented I felt during those moments just longing for more of those to come. Just wanna say 'Thanks for the memories!' its been really great to be with you people.

If you were to ask my heart I wouldn't want this chapter to end but to go on forever to new adventures new places that we've not yet ventured together. But as much as I do not want to be separated from you beloved people, I still do believe that God has a grander plan for us in the new cells where He has called us to be. Brothers and sisters this is not goodbye, we can still hang out and continue to be there for each other even when we are in our new cells.

For those who are continuing this new chapter alongside me, be prepared for an exciting ride! Great things are gonna happen as we groom and shape this cell up together. My wish and prayer for the cell is that they will all grow up into responsible and spiritually matured Christians under all of your (and mine) guidance. I would also wish that we will become as bonded as the old PL1. I will need all of your help and support and thanks for continuing this journey along side me.

As for my other darlings that won't be in the same cell as me anymore just want to say thanks again for making the pervious chapter a lovely and fulfilling one. May God even grant you more people to love and care for and also more people who would love and care for you.

For Yinings. Thank you for serving alongside me and the sacrifices you made and the time you spent for the cell group. You've been an awesome leader and someone I'll always look up to. Thanks for always correcting me in love and always being so patient with me although I am so stubborn half the time! Thanks also for being a listening ear regarding zone stuff. May you even excel in your ministry in CM and also in ur studies during your break!

For SHAR:) Thanks for being so so much more than a cell member and a really great personal friend. Thanks for all the sweet things you've said and done for me. I will really miss you in the weeks to come. You have been a great source of joy in my life and you've always made cell so much more enjoyable for me:D Continue to be a great example for the younger girls and I will always be here if you need me! Thanks for all the times you listened as I ranted and for all the laughter you've brought into my life too:)

For Phoe:D You know I once told Hannah that you're one of the most lovable people I know hahas. I really enjoyed being with you, talking to you and suaning you:D It'd have been great if you were around more often hahas (I'm not blaming you!) but thanks for the moments we shared and sometimes I really do feel like you're my younger sister! Thanks again for the company:D You've made me enjoy those outings really fun:D

For Elson! I doubt this separation will affect our friendship much considering that we've known each other from like millions of years back! Thanks for the support you've given me and the times we hanged out together! Looking forward to serving along side with you more in BCM:) We could jam more often or something! Its finally 2010! Sigh...I won't say that 2009 passed in the blink of an eye cos it was long and torturous and I feel that I've really been through so much more in 2009 than the other years in my life...Anyway have been quite sad about the reshuffling of cell recently and the only thing I really like about my new cell is that Elliot is there hahas...sigh...must we do it so quickly?

OK now for the happy things that hopefully will cheer me up a alittle...Had quite a blast going out/celebrating Christmas and New Year!

A Long Delayed Post

Hey people! I'm back after weeks of laziness and procrastination...for some reason I didn't really feel like blogging for the last couple of weeks but I shall do so now anyway...

Alright lets begin with the books I've read so far in these few months...apparently one night I was counting the number of books I've read and I realised that I am actually reading alot(compared to the past I guess)...so far I've read 'P.S I Love You', 'A Bend in the Road', 'Where Rainbows End', 'The Kite Runner' and "The Five People You Meet In Heaven'...'The Kite Runner' is by far my favourite book...its a real unique tale of friendship, loyalty, betrayal and redemption with its plot set in Afghanistan and America...its a really sad and enthralling book...I'll strongly recommend everyone to read it...can't wait to read 'A Thousand Splendid Suns' by the same author...

Ok and SHARMAINE called me a GEEK for all this booksie stuff...so I shall go into the less geekish stuff I've done thus far...so apparently there was one Saturday where I crashed Trevin's 21st Birthday Party with my sister...it was at the same venue as my sister's...he is one of my sister's bestie's boyfriend by the way...and as you can see I dont really know him hahahahs...the food was good so was the beverages...but I apparently didn't know anyone except my sister's besties and her BF so it was kinda boring...

4 weeks have passed so far and while most of my friends claim that time really flies here, I kinda feel that time is crawling like a snail...It just seems that I have been through and done so much in SI in the 'short' 4 weeks and week 4 was like the longest week ever...but sadly there is still so much ahead and passing out of SI is still so far away...I wanna get a time machine hahas and just skip my whole NS away...

Ok apart from my sad NS life, I played for service on Sunday...alot of people said that I improve but I find it kind of miraculous considering that I seldom practise nowadays...service ended really early so Elson, Dylan and I went to Suntec to eat/shop/do real random and lame stuff...oh and I finally found Reese's Peanut Butter Cups...hahas...

Hey guys Family Day a the Zoo was really fun hahahahs although we had to wake up really early for the bus...and for some reason I keep getting scolded for nothing that day...it started off with the bus driver saying "Eh boy don't litter in the bus ar!" then I was like "Yayaya" then he was like "YaYaYa!! all of you only say YaYaYa!!"...some retarded driver that can't accept the fact that he would be jobless if no customers took his bus...wdv...then some woman was like telling me after the service that I would crush her legs if I moved my chair any further backwards...

Ok aside from that I really had a great time hanging out with my lovely cell members...we toured the Zoo together, went to watch "I love you Beth Cooper" at AMK Hub and ate Ajisen for dinner at J8....oh by the way for minors please do not watch "I love you Beth Cooper" as Dylan was quite traumatised after the show hahahs...and please note that I did not choose the movie too...it was the same cell member that kept recommending us this kinda shows XD hahas...And OHOH we celebrated Phoebe's belated Birthday too=D

Hey guys I had a supposedly eventful National Day where I did my 28km graduation march for BSLC...it is like the first time the march is ever done in the day and it was quite a personal accomplishment although my feet are badly blistered now...we started at the Kranji War Memorial and we walked past several Japanese landing sites before arriving back at camp...we sang many National Day songs along the way and for once I felt patriotic hahas...

After the march our families were invited to watch the live telecast of the national day parade at the Leaders Square with us and then we made our way home...it was really a tiring day...

Hey guys, I am aware that I haven't been blogging in like a thousand years...there is nothing much happening in my life apart from my NS life I think...I don't know whats happening in my life out there man...some people are behaving in questionable ways and it seems that alot (concerning me) is being kept from me...many questions are left unanswered for me to figure them out...there are lots to clarify but something tells me that the truth will not be revealed to me so easily...

Anyway nowadays I am trying best to accept the way things are...like how I am stuck in my NS life and cut off from the rest of the world...like how some things are just meant to be or some things are just unreachable/unobtainable...like how some people still can't accept the fact that I know everything (almost) that happens around me...basically I am trying to losen my grip on life and perhaps let God take over, to let the things that God place around me shape my life without my constant interference although I have no idea where I am or where I am going...

Sometimes I just wish that I can have a clear direction or perhaps look into the future to see what's happening or what's gonna happen to me...but perhaps its time to stop trying to control my own life with my own strength and like the song says let 'Jesus take the wheel'...I really can't do this on my own...

Anyway on a brighter note, I am finishing my course really soon...I am just looking forward to my block leave and preferably a really good posting...thats all I guess...bye

Just some updates of my life in SISPEC...life's good there I guess...we get more freedom although there are loads of tests and training is slightly more xiong...we got to order mac delivery too=D...cool right?...haiz but being in SISPEC sometimes makes me feel like I am second best...and I don't know but sometimes I feel kinda dissatisfied being posted there especially when you can see the SAFTI tower from camp...guess I will just try to trust God more and leave things into His hands...

Hey guys...so today/yesterday I woke up to check for my posting order and slightly to my disappointment I was posted to School of Infantry Specialists(SISPEC)...like I said earlier I wanted to go to OCS but all wells...I shall just trust God that He has the best for me in His plan and perhaps OCS isn't really the best place for me...

After that I had lunch with Nelson at N.Y.D.C at Wheelock...he is like slacking away in his Navy OCS...and I kinda feel that I am or will be missing out alot not being in OCS as most of my school friends are there...

Ok, enough with all the emo nemo stuff...after meeting Nelson I went for my zone's outreach BBQ...I wasn't really there for the outreach part as I was busy starting the fire and preparing while they played games and did some sharing I think...Donovan's NUSH friends are pretty cool hahas...anyway during the BBQ I passed my camera to Sharmaine and she took like 72 (mostly nonsensical) pictures on my cam...and she took even more with her own cam...there were quite a number of newcomers and I would say that the turnout was great...I got to mix around quite abit till all the friends started leaving then I started to hang out more with the zone people...OH and it was also Elson's birthday!!!

Yo people...apparently I managed to make my sis watch and even pay for the tickets for the Hannah Montana movie hahas...I am not really a great fan of her but I must admit that I really really enjoyed the show hahas...the guy is quite cute and there was Taylor Swift...the songs are great too=D...hahas I think its a movie really worth watching with all the comedy, songs and romance...'life's a climb but the view is great!!!'

Anyway last Thursday I went to crash zone 4's camp...I crashed quite late but I really enjoyed myself there...hahas I think zone 4 people are kinda cool hahas and zhanrong is super duper cute...I didn't really do much there...played with the guys, had the finale and had lunch @ Swensen's the following day...

Alright then I went for Stretch Camp from Sunday to Tuesday and some of us stayed on till Wednesday...I was camp assistant but I managed to be a temporary group adviser for awhile when Chris wasn't around...I wanted to be group adviser but can't as I have to leave halfway for Law interview....anyway being a camp assistant wasn't that bad...I got quite alot of freedom and I could like join the other groups when I am free...the main thing was being station master which was quite fulfilling as I am apparently the station master with the most long winded debrief hahas...the service on Monday night was superb, the presence of God was so strong and I was ministered although I didn't go to be prayed for (as I was busy catching falling people)...Really want to thank the Stretch Comm for planning the camp and also the Stretchies for being there...I really learnt and enjoyed alot...

Hey guys I am aware that I have not been blogging for like ages...honestly so much happened that I barely know where to start...

Alright so during this long period of not blogging I apparently went for MOE's scholarship interviewed of which I got screwed quite badly...don't think I will get the scholarship after all I don't know...oh and I also got accepted into SMU Law but I have yet gone for the NUS Law's interview...it would be best if I can get into NUS Law as it is more reputable and stuff not saying that SMU is not good but its just kinda new...

And for the past few I had quite a number of outings...last last sat I went out with the Mission Trip people...quite few went...there was like only like me, elson, yang, belly and lebbu...went to vivo to eat and mostly take photos?...it was quite fun though...

Alright now about POP...we apparently had to march 24km before the parade with our fieldpacks, battle vest, helmet and rifle...our bags were like super heavy as we had to clear everything from our bunks...and I am very confident that the march was definitely definitely more than 24km...it was like friggin hot and after the last 4 km I almost fainted...I felt like super dizzy and my feet are really badly blistered...but I survived and it was a relieve to POP and be back home with my parents...please treasure your freedom my dear friends hahas...

More About My NS Life

Hey guys I know that I have not been blogging in like ages...what to do when your weekends are always so short and packed hahas...Alright lets start with what happened last week...

Last week I had the most miserable 6 days of my life in field camp...I didnt get to bathe/brush teeth for 6 days and I managed not to egest during that period too XD... training in field camp was fine but there are like routine tekaning sessions every morning and night...very very sianz...and the digging of the hole almost killed me...I had really tough ground with roots and rocks the size of soccer balls...I am so glad that I actually survived field camp...anw after field camp we had a really short book out...I was dam emo when I booked back in...

Ok then I had sit test which was 3 really tiring days...made new friends from other platoons but I sprained my ankle on the last day...it wasn't very serious like the still can walk kind...ok then I went for IPPT and 12km route march with a sprained ankle as I wanted to book out on friday and I didnt want to go for re-route march...I really want to thank God for giving me the strength to pass IPPT especially the pullups and the pain in my ankle wasn't really there throughout the day...then i went to see the MO(medical officer) on friday...I am also super thankful that I didn't get confined and I am one of the lucky few that booked out...

Alrighty...gotta get myself ready for another week...I am gonna have MOE interview on tues so pray for me k...and I am gonna POP real soon on 9 June=D

Hey guys I have not been blogging in like ages...my brain has been like rotting everyday in army...anyway didnt blog during my first bookout cos I was too tired...too many gatherings and stuff...hahas I shall just talk alittle about army since alot is classified I think...

Ok the first two weeks of confinement were like totally horrible but I kinda got used to it towards the end of the second week...its like the two weeks felt like two months or something like that...and oh my bunk has sea view dont be jealous of that k=D...ok la we got to learn alot of stuff than I learnt in NCC and some new stuff of course...and there are alot alot of exercises too...I ran more than I ever ran in my life...and oh lectures are like nap times in aircon rooms hahas...but sadly this week some dumb guy from another platoon got chicken pox and all lectures are cancelled...

My company is generally quite ok but my platoon is dam xiong man...the PS must always take up all out free time doing stupid stuff when other platoons get to slack...this includes random gear/bearing checks and stand by areas/beds and they love to punish us for anything and everyting...haiz wad to do just hope I'll come out stronger...

Anyway I am aiming for like OCS but I dun think I am performing exactly well enough...have to buck up soon and act more zai...and I am having problems with my pullups again...I kinda regret not training enough before enlisting...ok la keep me in ur prayers I shall spam the limited pics I have cos cameras are not allowed there...

Haiz I still can't accept the fact that I am actually going into NS this coming Sat...but all wells at least I still have a few more days to enjoy...the whole church kinda prayed for me for my NS today...before that I was asking Ps Aaron whether xiaohua can come up with me anot cos the whole church pray for me like so tua bai (big shot)...yea...hope NS will really be fun hahahs...

Oh anyway yesterday I shot the stretch promo with jia jia lynn and dayna...had quite some fun...its my first video so forgive me if I suck or something...hahas...anyway I doubt I will be around to see it...oh and had prayer session and MM cell group yesterday too=D...felt so much more refreshed after the sessions...

And for today I finally got my pedals!!!! The box was quite old but the casing and the inside is fine...I have a feeling that that piece has been there for a very long time considering that normal people would not have spent so much on pedals...they are really cool but havent really played with them yet...

Some Reflections

Before talking about the reflections thing I shall just talk about what happened yesterday and today...Apparently I was suppose to buy stuff for Nathan yesterday but had insufficient funds...I walked around up and ended up in a shopping spree hahahs...bought 2 berms from Fox...so anyway I went to buy the sticks for Nathan today...I sent my guitar for 're-repair' too...the guy said the previous repair was super cui...hope can get Marc to pay for it...and I went to check out my pedals...they are super sweeeet...

Alright so today I was also suppose to play for prayer meeting...was quite reluctant at first but God's presence was really there and I just feel God telling me than "The mission trip is not over yet"...yea although we are not in Philippines anymore we can still use our experiences and our willing hearts to continue to minister to the people here...yupps I kinda got encouraged alittle cos I am alittle disappointed in the trip...now i shall just spam more trip photos AHAHAs...

Hey guys I am finally back from the mission trip...Although it wasn't exactly as good as I wanted/expected it to be, I can't deny that I enjoyed every part of this trip...God really did teach me many things through the short 10 days there and I really got to know some members of the team so much better...I really never knew that the pastors' lives overseas were so tough and they literally live by faith from day to day...I won't describe the whole trip in detail (cos its not very possible) but just enjoy the photos hahas...

Hey blog readers...my apologies for not blogging for like ages...I am getting kinda busy and lazy nowadays due to lots of preparation for mission trip stuff...hmm anyway lets start with what happened last week...I basically slacked on Monday but had chalet from Tuesday to Wednesday...I really had fun there I guess...it seems like I've not been at chalets for a very long time...And I had my first mission trip meeting on Thursday and went out with Elson after that...went back for TPM hahas cos I wanted Ps Chia to pray for my A levels hahas...not a very right motive though but I still thank God for blessing me with great results the following day...before the collection of results I met Nelly for lunch...everyone was like super stressed that day but thank God that he gave me the peace even before taking results....

Alright that's all for last week I guess...Not much exciting stuff to talk about...As for this week I spent most of the time preparing my mission trip sermons and personal testimony and had/have loads of mission trip meetings...Ps Rachel's session was really really great...got to learn alot and the practical session was like totally WOW...apparently we were like given random names of people from her church and we were asked to pray to ask God to reveal the strongholds in the people's lives...we were in shock and aw of how God can even speak to us so clearly and so accurately...

And guys I am kinda sick now...havent fallen ill for a very long time and I almost forgot the sensation of it...pray for me ya...I still wanna go to Philippines hahhas...Anyway I found this awesome song...tried to lead it for mission praise and worship but the key apparently killed everyone except me and a few individuals...its called 'Take Me In' by Kutless...they are not the original artist i think...

I always wanted to believe that this day would never come but oh wells...its just round the corner now. A level results will be out this Friday, 6 March 2009, at 2.30pm...please refrain from asking me my results k, I will put it on my blog/msn nick or I will sms you or something...people reading please remember me in your prayers...I love you guys hahas

As for now, my skies are clearing I guess and I hope it doesn't turn thunderous on Friday:(...Anyway I had close to nothing to do for the past few days...I rotted at yang's house after service prac on Saturday, went cage after service on Sunday and went MPS today...not much activities these days...Cage was fun but kinda short. I played keeper most of the time cos I am good at it and also cos I stink at other positions...

The good thing is I am goin for chalet tomorrow!!!...I am so excited hahas...Goodnite people and please pray for me...bye=D

Went to the airport to send Aretha off yesterday and we had an ADVENTURE there hahas...you gotta ask me personally about it cos I think I will get into trouble for blogging it...anyway I thought that I should have spent more time with her when she was around but its too late to be saying it now hahas...by the way its not an emo statement...

And as for now I am beginning the 'rotting' phase of the longest holiday I ever had...my alarm rang at 9am to wake me up for jogging but I cancelled the alarm and went back to bed...things just seems so different when a source of motivation has ceased to exist...but oh wells I just gotta live with what's left...I slacked most of the day away and helped Ps Aaron contact Yishun Safra...but in the end i still went jogging at 7pm...weather was great and I feel so much fitter since running with Jeremy and friends...thats all for today...

Sunday & Perfume Shopping

I am blogging now due to my intolerable boredom...apparently the people i talk to on msn are either having exams or afk but anyways shall just blog alittle...

Alright lets begin with Sunday...hmm...I didnt really do much in the morning in church but Youth Service was great=D...the worship was really deep and God really ministered to alot of people during worship, His presence was so tangible there...anyway as you know when God ministers the musicians are suppose kinda like support the atmosphere?...dun really know how to put it but you should know...ya so apparently I was whacking the drums like some mad man...it was super tiring k...and guess what, I BROKE MY STICK AGAIN):...I am really getting broke...Word was normal and after service I went jogging at Hougang Stadium with Jerry, CJ, Meryl, Cheryl, Rong Qing and Ivana...we jogged 22ROUNDS...cant believe I actually did that...it was good slimming though hahas...then went to dinner and Daryl's house...

As for Monday, I went perfume shopping with my sister...we went to Singapore Flyer to eat Popeye's first and I saw Bernice there...what a coincidence...anw we went to Marina Square to like test out all the perfumes first before buying they at lower prices at Lucky Plaza hahas...I bought Polo Ralph Lauren Blue and my sis bought Anna Sui Live Your Dream for herself and Incanto Dream for Tze Shan's birthday...it was quite a fun day I guess...ok...tata=D

Today went for service prac and found out from Ps Aaron that STEP's cancelled cos apparently only 3 of us can confirm that we're going...well at least that frees up alot of time but its still kinda disappointing especially when its after you have made up your mind to go...

'Absence makes the heart falter'...I am starting to miss her already...haiz enough of the emo crap...I am not supose to think about it anyway...

Before the STEP Team interview today I managed to meet ah ma Aurelia for lunch...she's currently teaching at GMSS under some MOE attachment...wad a coincidence hahas and Marcus Teo is her student :D...Anyway went for STEP interview later on and I was the first one to be interviewed hahas...the interview was nothing much but I am in a huge dilemma whether anot I wanna join STEP...its alot of commitment and stuff...haiz...but got to know Bernice and Estella while stapling the Combined Cell Lessons notes...they are cool people hahas...

Didnt really do much...gone for driving and I got the 'thorn in the flesh' instructor again....argh...haiz the consequences of not praying before driving lessons hahas...tt guy has issues man, he never praises you for anything well done but will criticise every little error u make even when the other instructors find it ok...that lamer(wanted to use another word but for the sake of possible adolesence readers I shall refrain) made me repeat my sub lols...c'mon la there are better ways to keep ur job loser......went to swim after lessons cos I cancelled my appointment with An and havent exercised for the day...

Had the Bethel Youth Alive Unforgetabble Valentines Day yesterday(ok technically its two days ago) hahash....the skit was really funny and EVERYONE WAS UNDERDRESSED...except a few individuals like myself of course hahas...it was quite fun i guess...I camwhored alot hahas

Went to shop for (clip-on) bowties today after working and driving lessons, cos apparently, I got no idea on how to tie the (self-tie) one that i wore for prom (my sis helped me for prom but she is super busy now)...they are like impossibly hard to find...Anyway i went to Raffles City as my 1st stop, there were hardly any bowties there, there were a few in Robinson tt looks really old and one in Brooks Brothers that cost a frigging $129...and OHOH I met Ps Aaron and JiaJia at Raffles City btw...so I took the Citylink to Suntec...there werent any in Citylink and the one in Suntec only sells self-tie ones...I also went to Millenia Walk and John Little in Marina Square but to no avail...so i took train to Vivo...where everything is...So in the end i got this at Goldlion @ Habourfront Centre...sometimes I wonder why ah pek brands got so much cool stuff that mainstream brands do not offer...and it looks almost the same as the one I saw at Brooks Brothers

Oh I just realised that i forgot to mention that its for the Youth Alive Unforgettable Valentine's Day!!!...hahas...I really hope that the rest of the youths will actually dress their best although i doubt they would...they will probably come in their school uniform or something...Anyway love is in the air hahas...I got flowers for all my cell members...that's if they actually turn up...hahas thats all for today. Fall Out Boy

Fall Out Boy concert was totally AWESOME manns...the crowd was really high and stuff...Anyway had half day of work and met Ebenezer at 5.30 to queue up...we chat for quite some time till Ben suddenly checked and realised he BROUGHT ONLY ONE TICKET!!! so anws he called his dad to bring the other ticket down...we almost couldnt make it but thank God we still did...

We got in quite early so managed to get really front places to stand...the view was superb but the music was kinda too loud. Before Fall Out Boys came out, there was an opening performance by some band called Hey Monday...they are not bad but i dun really know their songs...

And so Fall Out Boy came after them the transition was quite long though like half an hr? But who cares they still rock hahas...they played many of my fav songs including 'i dont care', 'dance dance','thanks for the memories' and many more...too bad there was no guitar solo for 'beat it'...anw the guitarist(i dunno his name) was like playing the intro of 'Thunderstruck' by AC/DC while Pete was talking...the finale was cool...Pete called the Hey Monday bassist to take over and he tried to jump into the crowd but sadly the bouncer pulled him back :(

Hey ppl...i finally decided to start a blog. Isnt the blogskin cool? hahahhas. Anyway i am still quite an amateur with blog stuff so i'll probably ask the IT savvy ppl for help when i get the chance...

Service was great yesterday i guess...the worship was good as ppl claimed... but sadly i broke my stick again :(...i think i will soon go broke buying sticks...i still got no idea why i keep breaking them recently......Generous individuals out there, you can always bless me with sticks hahas, Zildjian or Vic Firth 5AN would be fine XD...

As for today i went to work again hahas...the office is like at the 35th level and you should really go try the elevator there...u can literally feel the pressure in your ears when u go up/down...its almost like taking a plane hahas...anw working is like the most no-life(est) thing i have ever done...you step in, switch on the com and u review/chart slides after slides but the work never ends...i actualli wanted to work till 7 today but by 6.30 i couldnt stand it anymore so i just saved my work and left...thank God i am only working half day tml...my worktime is quite flexible nowadays as for some reason they dun want me to leave after my contract ended...

AND i am goin for the FALL OUT BOY CONCERT TOMORROW!!!! YAY!!! =D
